The thumb turn has an emergency slotted end for unlocking the door. Unlacquered brass, oil rubbed bronze, lacquered brass, brushed nickel, & polished nickel finishes.

On the opposite end of the crescent-turn side, there is a special emergency slot for unlocking the door. Just use a screwdriver to turn the slot, this will then turn the shaft that will unlock the bolt on a deadbolt operator, or a deadbolt on a mortise lock. Combining function along with style, these crescent-style thumb turns will provide a welcoming addition to your doors. They are designed in the early 20th century style of hardware, but will fit in with any time period up to the current modern styles.
