Very cool and extremely sharp, this Japanese folding knife has been made in the same way since 1896. In traditional Higonokami style, it doesn't lock — you open it by pushing the lever on the top of the handle and use your thumb pressure to prevent the knife from folding during use. And again, it's incredibly sharp. So be careful. The blade has a flat grind and no secondary bevel, and is made by sandwiching hard steel with soft iron. Since it's a double-edged V, you can use either side, regardless of dominant hand. The handle is made from a folded sheet of unlacquered brass that's stamped with the name of the maker, so it'll take on a great patina over time.
