Victory has released details of its new High-Ball custom – a ‘bobber’ based on the successful Vegas model. While Victory’s parent company Polaris Industries promised American dealers the High-Ball would roll off production lines in April, the High-Ball won’t appear in the UK in an official capacity until 2012. For this reason no official UK price has been given but today’s US $13,499 list price converts to £8500. With import tax etc the Hard-Ball would most likely appear with a price of in keeping with the Vegas range at around £8999-9500 – well under the price of Harley-Davidson’s new and similar ‘bobbed’ £13,895 Softail Blackline. With 16in wire-spoked laced-rims, white-walled, chunky Dunlop tyres (130/90 front, 150/80 rear), and shorty front mudguard, the High-ball pays homage to the early fifties ‘bobbers’ – the name given to bikes of the era that had been stripped by owners (usually former servicemen) of bodywork and weight within the rules of the law.
