Report: Bucks' Lee joining Celtics coaching staff as top assistant

Milwaukee Bucks assistant Charles Lee is nearing a deal to join the Boston Celtics as the top assistant on Joe Mazzulla's staff, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.The Bucks added Lee to Mike Buzenholzer's staff in 2018 and promoted him to associate head coach in 2022. However, Milwaukee dismissed Budenholzer in early May and recently hired Adrian Griffin as his successor, leaving Lee's role in flux.Lee was considered a reported candidate in nearly all of the now-filled coaching vacancies that emerged this postseason, including Milwaukee's before it tabbed Griffin. He also reportedly received strong consideration for the openings on the Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, and Phoenix Suns.Boston reportedly hired former NBA veteran and longtime assistant Sam Cassell to Mazzulla's staff recently.The Bucks have overhauled their coaching lineup with a handful of reported additions since hiring Griffin, including Joe Prunty and Patrick Mutombo.
